Azwan is an award-winning writer/director, editor and actor from Amherst, MA. Growing up, he found his second home at Amherst Media, the local public access station where he learned to produce comedy skits, short films and music videos, channeling his colorful imagination and ‘Jackass’ infused energy into the arts.
Moving to Los Angeles, CA in 2014 he held a video editor position at the NBCU Digital Lab. He then secured a full-time position at film/TV website IndieWire as video producer/editor. In addition to his professional work Azwan has written, directed, produced, edited and acted in 3 short films: Reason for Leaving, Farmer Ed (an official selection of 16 film festivals) and Vinyl Thief, world premiering at LA Shorts in 2026. He is currently writing his first feature.
More recently Azwan has edited Reach TV’s ‘Ticket to Success‘ series, ‘Pati Jinich Explores PanAmericana Season 2′ and Semester Cinema’s ‘An Enemy of the People‘ where he mentored/edited a feature-length film with students. Azwan’s work blends heart, humor, detail-oriented professionalism and boundless creativity.
